Who We Are
Space + Place Design is a landscape architectural practice, registered with the Landscape Institute, with projects ranging from large residential developments and community projects to school outdoor learning environments and smaller private gardens.
The practice, led by Avra Ploumi-Archer, is based in North London and comprises of a small team of talented landscape architects with input from architectural technicians and other specialists as needed, working across the UK. Avra set up the practice in 2015 and brings over 20 years of experience in both public and private practices.
What We Do
We start on any project by listening: what does the client wants, what the project needs, how we can thoughtfully and creatively answer the brief regardless of the project scale or budget.
We offer a full range of landscape services and expertise at all designs stages, from conception to implementation. We undertake site appraisal and feasibility studies, concept design development and masterplans, detailed design and specifications, for both hard and soft landscape design, maintenance and management plans, tendering, contract administration and site supervision.

I have been impressed with the team at Space + Place Design, and in particular with the way that Avra Ploumi-Archer has engaged sensitively with all parties, skilfully explaining complex issues and constraints of the site with enormous amounts of patience, and in language suitable for the range of different audiences. The Feasibility Study Report clearly sets out the different design options and potential operating models. It concludes with an action plan that provides structure for all parties moving forwards.
Throughout this project Avra has demonstrated extensive knowledge of project delivery models, urban landscapes, design and community engagement. The professionalism and good humour of Avra and her team have made them a joy to work with.
